David Lawton

David Lawton is Professor of English at Washington University in St. Louis. He has also taught at the University of York, the University of Sydney, the University of Tasmania, and the University of East Anglia, Norwich, and has held visiting fellowships at Cambridge and Oxford. The author of six books, among them Voice in Later Medieval English Literature: Public Interiorities; Faith, Text and History: The Bible in English; and Chaucer’s Narrators, Professor Lawton was founding coeditor of New Medieval Literature and has served as the executive director of the New Chaucer Society.
